Restoration

All Saints’ is just starting a large restoration project to enable our lovely church to remain open for worship for another hundred years. The program of repairs includes

  • Resurfacing the path from Church End down to the church
  • Re-thatching the nave roof using traditional Norfolk reed
  • Repairing the wall of the south aisle which has become cracked
  • Restoration of the window in the south aisle to the west of the Porch

Preparatory work began last year, when we dug some test pits to enable our engineer to assess the cause of the subsidence affecting the south aisle. This lead to the removal last autumn of almost a dozen trees from immediately around the church which were contributing to the subsidence problems.

You can keep up to date with the latest news on the restoration including events and activities organised by the ‘Raise the Roof’ group on our Raise the Roof blog
